Our Story
Leicester Fertility Centre was established in 1989 with a vision to help people have families and offer tailored fertility treatment across Leicestershire and Rutland. Over the years the service has grown, and we are proud to provide the personalised approach to care which is at the heart of everything we do. Although our team started small, it now boasts a multidisciplinary team of over 25 colleagues, including Medical Consultants, Nurses, Embryologists and Administrative team.
We admire our history and really excited about the future. We have assisted in the conception of more than 1000 babies in the last 30 years, and our commitment to innovation means we are constantly improving our service to provide the start of the art evidence-based treatment.
We are delighted to continue on our mission to provide tailored fertility treatment across Leicestershire and beyond.

Research at Leicester Fertility Centre
Research within the field of fertility is vital for improving outcomes for patients and families.
At Leicester Fertility Centre, we are proud to contribute to research and innovation. We have projects and studies ongoing in the clinic and these provide patients with a chance to participate in research before, during or after treatment.
You will always be asked if you’d like to participate in research before being recruited onto a project or study. Deciding whether or not to be part of any research is often a very complex and personal choice. We are here to support you through the decision making process with counselling and direct access to those conducting the research. The high standard of care you receive from us will not be affected should you wish not to participate.
Certification and Accreditation
Leicester Fertility Centre is certified to International Standard 9001 since 2006 to safeguard patients and optimise quality of service and clinical effectiveness. We are a Human Fertility and Embryology Authority (HFEA) licensed Fertility Centre.
Approved centre for the Scientist Training Programme
Leicester Fertility Centre is approved as a training centre for the Scientist Training Programme (STP) in reproductive medicine. The National School of Healthcare Science has oversight of the Scientist Training Programme (STP). As part of their remit, they are responsible for ensuring the quality of the training offered in the workplace.
