Leicester Fertility Centre is ideally situated within Leicester Royal Infirmary and has excellent links to gynaecology services within the hospital.
Many investigations are available to patients on the NHS, irrespective of funding for fertility treatment. To access these investigations please ask your GP to refer you to infertility in gynaecology at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Uterus and Fallopian Tubes
Hystersalpingogram (HSG) is an x-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes using a fluid which can be seen during the procedure. You many have this investigation before treatment, especially if you intend to have intrauterine insemination or donor insemination. Both NHS and private patients can have this investigation.
Hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography (HyCosy) requires fluid to be placed into the uterus whilst a consultant scans you to see your uterus and fallopian tubes. This treatment is only available to private patients.
As well as looking at your follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) on day 2-4 of your cycle we offer private patients another blood test to check their ovarian reserve. This is call an Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH) test. Unlike FSH this can be done any time during your cycle.
If you are unsure about which tests you need please call and speak to a member of our team on 0116 258 5922.
