Miss Janine Elson - Consultant Gynaecologist Janine Elson is the Lead Consultant. She has been an NHS consultant and an RCOG accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2004. Janine undertook her initial medical training at Leicester University and Leicester Royal Infirmary and her subspecialty training at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester. She is known internationally for her research into early pregnancy failure, endocrinology and gynaecological ultrasound |

Ms Neelam Potdar
Neelam Potdar is a Subspecialist trainee in Reproductive Medicine & Surgery and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leicester. She is accredited with qualifications of MS, MD and MRCOG. Her initial training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology was in India and she speaks English, Hindi fluently and understands Gujarati. Neelam has special interest in Assisted reproduction, Fertility preservation, Recurrent implantation failure, Recurrent pregnancy loss and Reproductive surgery. Additionally, she has keen interest in research, especially life style factors affecting implantation and pregnancy |

Jane Blower - Consultant Embryologist Jane Blower is the consultant embryologist and the laboratory manager. Jane is also the HFEA Person Responsible. She has been an embryologist since 1998 and has worked at the Leicester Fertility Centre since 1989 when the clinic opened. She is responsible for quality management in the centre and was the first embryologist in the UK to complete the master's degree in Assisted Reproductive Technologies at the University of Nottingham. |

Mo Thomas - Senior Counsellor Mo has worked at the Leicester Fertility Centre since 1989. Mo is a qualified counsellor with a specialist interest in infertility. Mo is also a registered nurse with a wealth of experience; she spent 7 years as a senior sister within the NHS Mo has worked as a counsellor with the Leicester Fertility Centre since 1989, offering counselling in all aspects of assisted reproduction. Apart from support and therapeutic counselling, she also works with couples and specialises in person centred counselling. Mo also runs a weight management clinic for men and women. |

Cathy Clarkson - Fertility nurse specialist co-ordinator Cathy Clarkson joined us as a fertility nurse specialist in 2003. Cathy has over 20 years experience in gynaecology nursing, when she was involved in the general infertility clinic as a clinical nurse specialist. Cathy is very experienced in explaining and planning treatments to patients. |

Marian Williams - Infertility Nurse Specialist Marian Williams, the Senior Infertility Nurse Specialist, has worked as part of the nursing team at the Leicester Fertility Centre since 1992 and is responsible for all aspects of nursing activity. She is particularly keen to ensure that the service we provide is efficient and professional, and that the staff are friendly and approachable. Marian has a background in both gynaecology and general nursing since 1979. |

Janessa Hanley Janessa qualified as registered nurse in 2008 and joined the ACU team in March 2010, having previously worked in neurology. She has been involved in nursing since leaving secondary school and has a great interest in assisted conception and reproduction. Janessa enjoys direct patient care and being able to assist patients through the specialised journey of infertility treatment. |

Monique Johnson - Healthcare Assistant
Monique Johnson joined the team in 2006 after 18 years experience of gynaecology. Her roles in the clinic are to assist the medical team during egg collections and embryo transfers, providing support to patients during and after theatre procedures. |

Amy Sharpe - Embryologist Amy Sharpe joined the Leicester Fertility Centre in 2003 as a trainee embryologist, after completing her degree in anatomy in Glasgow. In November 2005 she was awarded her Certificate in Clinical Embryology and her ICSI licence. Amy has a special interest in male infertility and ICSI and particularly enjoys patient contact. Amy is responsible for co-ordination of our laboratory databases. |

Emma Harmer - Embryologist Emma Harmer joined the Leicester Fertility Centre in 2003 as a trainee embryologist, after completing her degree in Natural Sciences in Cambridge. In November 2005 she was awarded her Certificate in Clinical Embryology and her ICSI licence. Emma has a particular interest in cryopreservation and the preservation of fertility in patients undergoing oncology treatment, and is responsible for the scientific co-ordination of our donor embryo programme. |

Charlene Freeman - Embryologist Charlene Freeman joined the team as a trainee embryologist in September 2006, after completing her degree at Leicester University in Medical Biochemistry. Charlene completed her Clinical Embryology Certificate in July 2009, and is hoping to gain state registration in July 2011. Charlene has a keen interest in research, sperm donors and oncology patients. She really enjoys working in the clinic and meeting patients. |

Amanda Derry - Andrologist Amanda Derry joined Leicester fertility centre in 2005. Amanda is responsible for running the Regional Andrology Service, Donor Sperm Bank and male oncology referrals for cryopresivation of semen. Amanda brings a great deal of experience from her previous role of 16 years at the LRI as a Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer in clinical and environmental microbiology. She attained a degree in biomedical science at Nottingham Trent University with merits in bacteriology and parasitology, she is state registered with the HPA and has recently passed a certificate in biomedical andrology. Amanda is interested in male factor infertility. |

Layla Goacher - Medical Laboratory Assistant Layla joined the team in 2009 to support the laboratory team. Layla looks after the liquid nitrogen store and plays a big role in stock control within the unit. |

Helen Copson - Senior Administrator/ PA Helen Copson is the senior administrator/ PA at the Leicester Fertility Centre. She joined the team in 2005 after having previously worked within the UHL Trust. Her main responsibilities include supervising other members of the administration team and managing & monitoring the finances of the centre. She also works closely with the instituto Bernabeu, Alicante, on our international egg donation programme.
