Some couples trying to conceive a child may find themselves in the situation that both partners suffer some form of infertility. Either the female partner may not be producing eggs, or the male partner may not be producing sperm.
People who have already undergone infertility treatment are the source of embryos for donation to other couples. They may have been successful in their treatment and do not wish to increase their family further or they may have decided not to pursue any further treatment.
The screening process for embryo donors is the same as for sperm and egg donors.
The same regulations regarding removal of anonymity apply.
Embryo Recipients
Embryo recipients are screened in the same way as patients that undergo IVF or frozen embryo transfer.
Because there is a shortage of embryos for donation, you will be placed on a queue for treatment.
